Custom Window Cling Questions
What are your window clings made out of?
Our custom window clings are printed on a durable static cling vinyl. All orders will be printed on white static cling vinyl unless otherwise specified. If you prefer your order to be printed on clear static cling vinyl, please note this in the comments field when placing your order.
What will my static window cling decal stick to?
Your static cling decal will stick to almost any smooth, non-porous surface. If you want your static cling or decal to cling on the printed side, please select the "reversed" option. Be sure to clean the surface thoroughly before application. If the application surface is dirty, your window cling will adhere to the dirt and dust rather than the surface itself.
Can I use my static cling outdoors?
Static cling decals are recommended for indoor use only. While not designed for outdoor use, static clings are useful because they can be removed quickly and easily without causing surface damage. Because they are easily removable, your static cling decals can be used over and over. Store your static cling decal on the liner provided with your order when not in use. If you'd like to place your decal outside, we offer durable vinyl decals in addition to our static cling decals.
Can you guarantee exact color matches?
We cannot guarantee exact color matches for two reasons. One, everyone uses different computer monitors and settings. Secondly, a computer screen is illuminated so colors will appear differently on screen than they do in real life. Due to shipping and production costs, we unfortunately cannot provide proofs or samples.
Why does my uploaded graphic look blurry?
If your uploaded graphic appears blurry or pixilated is it most likely due to poor resolution. We print exactly what you uploaded at the size you specified, so make sure to look at your artwork at full size. For a more in-depth information, check the question below regarding raster artwork.
What is the difference between raster and vector images?
Raster Files: Raster files are images made up of tiny squares, known as pixels. Typically the squares are so small that the image looks crisp and individual squares are not detectable. However, when a raster image is enlarged, the pixels become very obvious and the image quality suffers. The quality of a raster file is measured in dots per inch, or DPI. For a printed image to appear crisp, it must be at least 300 DPI at the size it is to be printed at. A file pulled from a website is typically only 72 DPI. Common raster file formats are .JPEG, .TIFF, .PNG, .BMP and .GIF
Vector Files: On the other hand, a vector file is made up of lines and arcs stored as coordinates. This means that vector files are made up of precisely defined entities, each with its own beginning and end, rather than lumpy groups of pixels as found in raster files.Vector files can be enlarged to any size without losing any quality. Common vector formats are .EPS, .AI and .SVG.
Can you create a decal using our logo?
Absolutely! Please send us your logo so we can determine if it needs any work in order to convert the image to a static cling decal. Send the file with the best image resolution that you have available.
